This will in my opinion create a more happy and productive workforce.
It just might  save the company !!

A voice for the unemployed !

Let me say from the outset that I am not interested
In forming a political party for the unemployed !
But someone must form a party for the unemployed.

There are a number of issues:

1.   The unemployed do not earn $2000 in a fortnight to  avoid
Bank fees.

2. The newstart allowance must be increased in absence of a job or business

As you can see I have just mentioned just a few issues. Whoever takes on that role,
There are 800,000 votes to be gotten.

Again just an opinion !

Never a mandate for work choices!

So we have a new leader!  On the other hand the new
Supremo does not have a mandate to bring in the draconian
Work choices. According to the new leader,work choices is dead,
Buried and cremated. It will stay that way!

On a positive note, let's hope the new leader puts good, both economic and social,
Policies.

"Super" for the wealthy

Why do the wealthy need super ? Since they can make money hand over fist
They do not need super. The only reason that I can think of is that it is a tax dodge.
The government or the incoming government should ban the wealthy from having super
and access to welfare. The tax applied on super should be abolished.

Anyway, something to think about.

Nearly there, that's what i am feeling at the moment
About the federal election. I bet everybody else  is feeling
The same way about the election on Australia. As you know I am going to vote
For the greens in the house if reps and the stable population party in the senate.
It will be a relief when the election is over. My vote will not make a difference to the result
Of the liberals winning the election.

Anyway it's time to take my pills and ponder what may lie ahead for me.!

The Federal Election

For the first time in my life, I am unsure on who I will be voting for. As previously stated, I had my mind up to vote for the Liberals but now I have come to my decision to vote for the Greens. The only problem is that they must make sure that they get the mining tax right. On increasing the newstart allowance, I believe that people should have jobs rather than being on welfare.


Anyway, on September the 7th, I hope you guys out there make the right decision.

 Other jobs in the manufacturing sector, the government
Should offer assistance when the dollar is high. But when the dollar is
Low, the companies affected should payback the money that was given
To them.

Adding Value !!!!!

One way of diversifying Australia's economy is to do the obvious. Add value. We have  about 6% unemployment at the moment and coupled with a higher inflation target, we might just be able to solve this problem and possibly many more. With Australia's resources, we have to be smart in the way we use our natural advantage.For example, when the dollar is low we should export and when the dollar is high, we should "export" to the domestic environment.


Just a thought.

Contribution.That is, if it needs to be increased to 12%, it should go to the low income earners not the
Wealthy. The wealthy, through tax minimisation schemes ( which super is one) , can provide for themselves.

It's me again. The governments MRRT could have been designed better or not thought of at all.
If the government wanted to help people, especially the low income, with their super, all the government had to do is to legislate ( LAW) the employer contribution from 9 to 12 percent. That's it.

The cost of welfare !!!!!!!!!!!

This post is about the cost of welfare. Lets see what we can do here. The current budget for training is $1000.00. If we, say raise it to $10000.00 (not all of it spent), then the government of the day would have to spend about 7 billion dollars (one off payment). Thats a lot of money. Right ?

Now, there are 600000 people unemployed at $ 12,600.00 (CPI indexed) (most of these are probably long term unemployed). The total cost is $7.56 billion dollars per year (CPI indexed).

If the government of the day were to take the above option, then we have high quality training for the unemployed and maybe get a good, high paying job.

To the liberal leader,

You talk about hope , reward, opportunity. A few years ago I paid $ 15000 of my own money to improve my job prospects in the IT field. Alas, I have been unemployed for 7 years. During this time, I have never had the opportunity to get a job in IT.

Please, I implore you not to wind  back protections of the 457 visa. Please adopt a balanced approach.

a power company wants to charge extra for knocking down
trees to build the necessary infrastructure. This action
is audacious since they have made a $800,000,000 dollar
profit.

As a former defence scientist I have developed a keen sense of observation.
With my powers of observation, I notice that there are same sex relationships in the world.
With this in mind, the policy makers should recognise them and the law should account for them.

The banks part 2

A change of pace. Since the miners are being taxed or not, a bank tax
is the next step. That is, to tax the banks or not. What I mean is that if the policy makers
say to the banks, get rid of the fees and then the government does not tax the individual
banks.

The senate !!!!!!!!

One issue is burning in my head at the moment.
The senate. I will vote for the greens in the senate.
In my humble opinion, never give any political party the balance of  power
in the senate, especially the major parties. We all saw what happened when
the voters gave John Howard won the power in the senate!!!!
This issue will continue to haunt me!

Single parent payment

This post is about the single parent payment in Australia.
The greens propose to raise the payment by $127/fortnight, funded by the mining tax.
If the mining tax was properly designed, the money should be used for child care and training for
single parent and the unemployed.

I hope the leaders listen.

Corporate Law

Have you heard about corporate law? Basically it states the organisation has to maximise its profits for its shareholders. The consequence is that countless people have lost their jobs to this law.

But what if this law was changed to say something like the organisation just make a profit and thats it. Sure run the company efficiently but not maximise its profits.

The surplus

Just a short comment on the issue of the surplus.
My opinion is that I'd rather have money in the bank than be in deficit.
Now one can argue about the size of the surplus. I would advocate a balanced
budget surplus without affecting vital services.

457 law

The 457 law. While I am pro- business to a certain extent,  I think the 457 rule should be abolished and a more balanced rule be put in place. Me thinks that hiring foreign workers at the expense of indigenous workers is basically not fair.This rule was brought under the Howard government and not acted upon by this current government. I think the correct and more fair way is to hire the indigenous workers first then if needed, import foreign workers if the current skill set is not found locally.

I am looking forward to hearing from fair minded and balanced people on this issue.

Improvements to the Iphone !!!!! Maybe?

Hi Guys !!!!!!!

I have been using the Iphone for a few months and I, maybe have come up with a few improvements.

For the apps developers, maybe it is a good idea to include a home screen button in their apps. That is, a button that takes the user back to the home screen instead of pressing a physical button.

Another improvement is to use a small solar panel to do the charging of the Iphone.

Another thought has come into my head. Since the unemployed do not receive $2000.00 per fortnight, it may be a consideration for our leaders to make a policy that people who do not receive  $2000.00 per fortnight, pay no fees to the banks.

I do not know what other people think ?

         My solution is to find the middle ground in IR.
          That is, both parties should work together to strike a set of guidelines that
          the, importantly, the business community, is happy with. The business community

Part2 - Solving the unemployment problem

Gday!!!!

Two months to go before my 7 year sojourn into the status of long term umemployment. The issue in this post is about is another tick in the policy armoury of trying to bring down the unemployment rate to zero.
One of the major obstacles that I am facing and many other umemployed people is the lack of work experience and on the job training provided (or not) by employers.  I have qualifications in cleaning but yet I cannot get a job because I have not got the experience.

      In essence, I urge all political parties, not to increase the newstart allowance but to put policies in place that the employers are willing to take on and train the unemployed.
